Welcome to the Al-Raida Memory Game on Female Imagery!

This is a memory game. Match each image to a corresponding quote, both drawn from an Al-Raida article. Once you have a match, you will get the full image and quote, as well as a link to the article they come from. Through this game, you can explore the different ways Al-Raida has engaged with visual arts made by women artists over the years.

The Al-Raida Memory Game was created by Carmine Audoly, Eva Livina Fijen and Tina Odermatt as part of an archival project exploring the notion of ‘female imagery’ throughout the issues of Al-Raida Journal. It was developed for dr. Sara Mourad’s Media Studies class ‘Sex, Gender and Media in the Middle East’ at the American University of Beirut in 2023.
